This 26 hour course is conducted in Duncan and is specifically designed for people with little, or no experience. It has everything you need to get on the road, riding safe, and is made up of three main parts:
- The classroom portion covers motorcycle controls and operation, basics of motorcycle care, hazard perception, safe riding techniques, and other aspects of motorcycle theory.
- On motorcycle training includes basic controls and riding practice, accident avoidance and emergency maneuvers.
- Road training to prepare you for the dangers of real life riding.
Vancouver Island Motorcycle School supplies motorcycles for this course and the following tests.
Students can use their own bikes provided they pass a safety inspection.
Skills tests are part of the course, and conducted through ICBC. Once passing the Motorcycle Skills Test the supervisor and speed restrictions are removed from your license. The daytime only and no passenger restrictions still apply until after you pass your road test. View Course Schedules here
Students must have a class 6,6L, 8, or 8L license to enrol in this course.
